The RSV vaccine, Arexvy is now free for all adults aged 75 years and older and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults aged 60 years and older. ​​​Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a virus that can lead to serious outcomes in older adults such as pneumonia. The risk of severe RSV illness rises with increasing age and if you have certain medical risk factors. RSV vaccination is also recommended (but not funded) for people aged 60 years and older who have specific conditions associated with increased risk of severe disease. All GPs have the ability to apply for individual authority to provide ongoing prescriptions for adults with the endorsement of their psychiatrist.
