Fees policy

We are a private billing practice. Fees are payable by card or cash at the time of your consultation. Specific fees will apply to other services, such as procedures or Mental Health Plans. Your doctor will advise of any anticipated costs and our receptionists can also provide you with relevant details of fees and rebates.

We routinely bulk-bill patients who are holders of Commonwealth Government pension or Healthcare cards. This means that the Medicare rebate is paid directly to your doctor and they accept this as full payment for your consultation.

Referrals and Scripts

The practice policy is not to write prescriptions or referrals based on telephone requests if you have not attended the surgery in the last 12 months. We appreciate the chance to see you and review your medical issues. You can request a short phone consultation for a repeat referral or prescription. As at June 2020, Medicare rebates apply for phone consultations.

In some situations we will not be able to write a prescription without reviewing you, for example pain medications or sleeping pills.

If you do not wish to have a phone consultation, administrative charges for the service of reviewing your file and providing a prescription or referral will apply. Extra administrative fees may apply for faxing/posting, or for services provided on the day.

COVID-19 rebates for telehealth

Medicare rebates as outlined above will apply to telehealth consultations until 30 September 2020.

  • A person who is required to self-isolate because they have had a positive test for COVID-19, or in accordance
with home isolation guidance issued by Australian Health Protection Principal
    Committee (AHPPC)

  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander over 50 years
  • Pregnant
  •  the parent of a child aged under 12 months
  • being treated for a chronic health condition; or is immune compromised
  • meets the current national triage protocol criteria for suspected COVID-19 infection (close contact and now symptomatic).
